Our collaborative and multi-disciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing water and wastewater infrastructure services alongside drainage design, SuDS and surface water management. Our wide variety of clients span across the UK and internationally and include water companies, local authorities, highways / rail authorities, and developers.

It's an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment in the water industry. Due to continued framework successes, we seek to recruit a Water Quality Modeller to join our Water and Wastewater Team at any office location across the UK.

Your role
  • Supporting senior team members in coastal and estuarine hydrodynamic and water quality modelling, including assisting with bathing and shellfish water assessments, Water Framework Directive reviews, and UPM assessments.
  • Contributing to modelling projects as part of multidisciplinary teams, developing numerical skills in environmental engineering.
  • Ensuring deliverables meet required standards and comply with relevant regulations, under the guidance of experienced staff.
  • Assisting with project and programme management activities as required.
  • Actively seeking opportunities for learning and professional development, with guidance and mentorship from senior colleagues.
  • Engaging with technical innovation and participating in improvement workgroups to support team objectives.
About you
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the UK Water Industry and relevant regulatory considerations.
  • Supports the coordination and delivery of projects such as the Water Framework Directive, SOAF, and UPM under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Shows a developing knowledge of hydrodynamics, sediment transport, and water quality processes.
  • Experience or willingness to learn industry standard software such as InfoWorks ICM.
  • Assists in checking the work of colleagues to support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Contributes to project delivery and helps maintain positive client relationships, with support from more experienced staff.
