Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced working environment, preferably in a laboratory setting.
• Knowledge and adherence to good laboratory practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze water samples according to laboratory standards.
• Handle samples ensuring temperature control and sample integrity.
• Maintain accurate records and perform calibrations and checks as required.

Job description

Overview

Unfortunately, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

37.5 Hours per week. Tuesday - Saturday. 12:00 - 20:00.

Purpose of the post

To complete, to the required quality standards, the preparation of samples for a given method. To assist in the efficient day-to-day operation of the water microbiology laboratory. To share the vision of providing the best possible quality to ensure each sample is processed with precision and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of water samples utilising good laboratory practice.
• Preparing and dispensing consumables
• Undergo training and follow laboratory SOPs and Safe Systems of Work.
• Ensure samples received are handled in accordance with documented procedures, including attention to temperature control, storage and maintenance of sample integrity.
• Maintenance of accurate records as detailed in the quality procedures.
• Perform calibrations, daily checks and other quality related tasks as required.
• Work with the team to drive the laboratory forward through continuous improvement.
• Report any anomalies or concerns to direct report.
• Comply with Health and Safety procedures keeping the working environment clean and tidy
• Maintenance of laboratory fittings and equipment as directed.
• Provide a high level of internal and external customer care.

Qualifications

• Maths, English, Science at GCSE grade C or above or equivalent
