Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Operative to join our new warehouse team reporting into the Supply Chain Lead. The main purpose of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch/replenishment of warehouse materials, goods and products to feed business operations and internal customer demand.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Take delivery of goods and supplies and sign delivery notes or receipts where relevant
  • Check for damaged or missing items
  • Store, pack and distribute goods appropriately
  • Pick and replenish orders for internally and externally.
  • Move stock around either by hand, using trolleys, a pallet truck, and a FLT.
  • Monitor the central Market e-mail inbox for customer queries.
  • Learn and utilise bespoke system for tracking inventory, stock, picking and billing
  • Carry out stock counts/control on a regular basis.
  • Keep paperwork/filing up to date
  • Ensure that all lifting and manoeuvring of goods is carried out in accordance with manual handling procedures
  • Operate in a safe manner complying with all health, safety and environmental requirements to ensure own and safety of others
  • Keep areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency
  • Make recommendations to aid efficiency and add value
  • Support the storage and retrieval of items from the DNA frozen archive.

Additional Information

Due to the highly sensitive nature of the work, applicants should note that security clearance is required for this role. To gain security clearance you must have five years continuous residency in the UK. Security clearance is undertaken by a third party to police personnel vetting standards (NPPV/3 and SC), as such any criminal convictions may prevent you from gaining security clearance.
