Job description

Driver Hire Newcastle & Sunderland are looking to recruit a Warehouse Operative for an immediate start to cover our largest clients peak requirements in the run up to Christmas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for full time hours and consistent work in the run up to the festive period.

The successful candidates will play a vital part in ensuring the operation runs like clockwork. They will assist with the unloading of retail stock and click & collect parcels from HGV vehicles arriving at the distribution centre on a daily basis. Stock will then need to be allocated to the correct locations within the warehouse to ensure a fluid picking process, in preparation for them being delivered to a nationally recognised retailer in the area. Warehouse experience would be advantageous but not essential.

A typical working week will consist of working any 5 days out of 6 between Sunday to Friday, with the flexibility to work 6 days a week to meet the needs of the business. Shift times start at 00:00 and finish at 08:30.

Rates of pay vary depending on the day and time. Any hours worked on a Sunday will be paid at £20.00 per hour. The night rate, which is paid between the hours of 6pm and 6am, is £14.00 per hour. The day rate, paid between 6am and 6pm, is £12.21 per hour.
