Job description
Warehouse Operative - Dumfries

Pay: £12.21 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with alternate Saturdays 8am to 12pm

Contract: Temporary until at least November

We are looking for a reliable and hard-working Warehouse Operative to join our team in Dumfries. This is a great opportunity to work in a busy environment where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unloading and checking all incoming stock deliveries, following company policy and Health & Safety procedures
  • Carrying out daily checks on the forklift truck and other equipment, reporting any defects to the Depot Manager
  • Ensuring stock security and completing all required checks on outgoing orders and deliveries
  • Handling customer returns in a professional and courteous manner
  • Completing daily and weekly stock checks to maintain an accurate computerised stock file
  • Following company policy on damage control and replacement part ordering
  • Keeping the warehouse clean, tidy and well-organised, including stock rotation
  • Working as part of the team to achieve both individual and depot goals
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for both staff and customers within the depot
About You
  • Good basic literacy and numeracy skills
  • Forklift licence (preferred but not essential)
  • Previous experience working within a large organisation
  • Knowledge of stock management and workplace Health & Safety
  • Able to work on your own initiative and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail, with good organisational skills and commitment
  • Awareness of Health & Safety regulations and willingness to follow them at all times
