Volunteer Driver – Responsibilities

An exciting opportunity has come available for a Volunteer Driver to transport patients to and from groups and appointments. The volunteer is required to work within the tasks identified as follows: Provide transport for people wishing to get to appointments and groups. This may be to access health appointments, to participate in an activity or to assist in-patients with home leave. Offer reassurance and engage in conversation as appropriate during the journeys.

• Report any concerns to the Supervisor / Service Manager.

• Mileage and out of pocket expenses will be covered. Proof of a clean driving licence, insurance and MOT is essential for this role.
• Ability to follow instructions, tidy and methodical.
• Punctual and reliable.
• Interest in working with people with mental health conditions and/or dementia, and/or physical health needs.
• Ability to communicate with a range of people with diverse needs.
• Adhere to the dress code for the area in which they volunteer.
• Wear ID badge at all times.
• Be able to work as a member of a team.
• Behave professionally and treat others with dignity and respect at all times and adhere to the principles of the Trusts Equality and Diversity Policy.
