A consultancy firm based in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Videographer/Editor to manage end-to-end video production for their YouTube channel. This involves filming high-quality content, proficiently using Adobe Suite for editing, and managing a content pipeline. The candidate should have experience with Sony FX30 cameras, strong organizational skills, and a valid UK driving license. This role offers a competitive salary and hybrid work options.
Salary: £35,000.00 Per Annum
Location: Manchester / Cheshire & Remote (Hybrid)
We’re a consultancy business, but our entire growth engine is YouTube. Our channel is the primary source of inbound leads and has already driven a meaningful amount of business. We’re now doubling down on YouTube as a long-term strategy by significantly increasing both the quality and volume of content we produce.
At present, the channel sits at around 26,000 subscribers and generates approximately 100,000 views per month. Our ambition is to scale this substantially by publishing a high volume of valuable, educational content, across both long-form and short-form formats, exclusively on YouTube.
To support this, we’re looking for a dedicated Videographer / Editor who can work closely with the Founder and take ownership of the production process end to end.
You will work closely with the Founder, capturing content across various locations in Manchester and Cheshire. You must have the skillset to set up professional, impromptu shots efficiently. This includes operating Sony FX30 cameras, creating clean lighting environments using our available equipment, and mastering audio capture to ensure crisp sound without background noise.
The content mix will vary: screen-recorded training videos, whiteboard sessions, interviews, and "day-in-the-life" b-roll. Your goal is to capture high-quality footage that requires minimal friction in post-production.
You will manage the entire editing process, from raw footage to final export. You must be fluent in the Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, Media Encoder & After Effects).
Given the volume of content, efficiency is key. We are not looking for cinematic documentaries; we are looking for clean, sharp, educational content. Your focus will be on retaining the critical information and explanation, while cutting mistakes, pauses, and unnecessary fluff. You need to be attentive to the subject matter to ensure the teaching remains clear.
We use a structured Content Pipeline to track every piece of footage from "To Edit" to "Uploaded". It is your responsibility to manage this workflow rigorously. You must ensure the pipeline is up to date, that you are aware of all incoming footage, and that you are flagging any bottlenecks to your line manager immediately. Organisation is important in this role due to the sheer volume of content we are producing.
We utilise a third-party designer for thumbnails, but you will act as their point of contact. You will provide the video titles and context to the designer, review their work to ensure it accurately depicts the video, and provide feedback to ensure high quality. Once approved, you are responsible for applying the thumbnail correctly via YouTube Studio.
You are responsible for the final mile of delivery. This includes uploading the final cut to YouTube, ensuring it is titled appropriately, added to the correct playlists, and writing the descriptions. You will schedule the content for release based on the team's agreed calendar. A robust internet upload speed is essential to handle this daily volume.
We want a partner who brings ideas to the table. You should actively research the YouTube landscape to understand what works from an algorithmic perspective. However, our "Golden Rule" is value: we prioritise teaching. As long as a video helps one person learn one thing, it is worth producing. If we can hit trending topics while doing so, even better.
You will take full ownership of the production hardware. It is critical that our filming sessions are never delayed by technical oversight. This means ensuring all batteries are charged, SD cards are dumped and formatted, lenses are clean, and firmware is up to date prior to every shoot. You will also be responsible for the safe transportation and organisation of the gear, packing it away correctly so it is ready for the next location immediately. If equipment is damaged or missing, it must be reported instantly so we can replace it without impacting the schedule.
