Overview

I have a lovely independent practice looking for an experienced VCA full time. Must have at least 1-2 years previous experience.

Responsibilities
  • Animal Care: Feeding, watering, and ensuring animals have access to fresh food and water. Cleaning and maintaining animal enclosures, cages, and kennels. Grooming and exercising animals. Monitoring animal health and behavior, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff.
  • Assisting with Treatments and Procedures: Preparing equipment and treatment rooms. Assisting with basic treatments, such as administering medications (under supervision). Restraining animals for examinations and procedures. Monitoring animals during and after procedures.
  • General Practice Support: Maintaining a clean and organized practice environment. Handling and transporting animals safely. Some VCAs may also assist with reception or administrative tasks.
  • Specific Duties for Inpatients: Exercising, grooming, and feeding hospitalized animals. Monitoring and providing supportive care to inpatients. Preparing the operating theatre and relevant equipment.
