Overview

You will be working within a team of 12. We are a united team and this role is important to us as it gives a great sense of pride knowing we are doing our part to keep Hertfordshire safe. Every day is different whatever your role in policing, so here's an overview of your day-to-day responsibilities:

  • Servicing and maintaining vehicles to manufacturers/VOSA standards.
  • Diagnosing/fault finding on vehicles and Unique Police equipment.
  • Keeping up to date with all paperwork/job cards.
  • Plan and prepare vehicle equipment installations.
  • General housekeeping.
  • Attend external and online training courses when required.
  • Liaise with management/stores to reduce vehicle downtime.

About Hertfordshire Constabulary

We are now hiring for a Vehicle Technician to help maintain a fleet of nearly 700 vehicles to the highest standards.   • Starting pay of £31,296 rising with service up to £39,813 including discretionary, plus 2 spinal column points for shift allowance.
  • £1500 per annum tool allowance.
  • 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, optional weekends when required.
  • Weekly shift rotation.
  • Week one 06:00-14:00 Mon-Thurs, Friday 06:00-13:30
  • Week two 13:30-21:30 Mon-Thurs, Friday 13:00-20:30
  • Flexible working requests can be made.
