Job description
URGENT LOCUM GP – HULL

Position: Locum GP in Hull (Day shift hours to suit). Hourly rate: £85.00 per hour.

Dream Medical is seeking Locum GPs to undertake ongoing rotas with an esteemed client based in a city centre site in Hull. The role is based at a purpose‑built Urgent Care Centre (UCC) open 365 days a year, but also includes shifts at walk‑in centres and general practices in East and Central Hull.

Scope of Work:

  • Perform surgery consultations, telephone or other remote consultations, home visits, and prescribe repeat medication.
  • Make professional, autonomous clinical decisions.
  • Assess patients’ health needs, screen for disease risk factors, and develop treatment plans.
  • Provide counseling and health education.
  • Refer patients to other providers as required.
  • Record clear, contemporaneous consultation notes.
  • Champion the practice clinical governance program and collaborate with the Service Senior Management Team.
  • Issue computer‑generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
  • Provide clinical supervision to other practice staff.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current, unrestricted GMC (UK) registration on the GP Register.
  • Excellent command of the English language (verbal and written).
  • GP vocational training or additional experience in general practice.
  • Knowledge of the NHS and understanding of clinical governance.
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a rapidly changing environment.

Additional Details:

  • Work includes UCC shifts and out‑of‑hours (OOH) shifts across East Hull.
  • Rotas offered 2 months in advance; shifts include mornings, afternoons, extended access, and weekends.
  • Suitable for GPs with a 3‑month or longer notice period.
