Job summary

A leading insurance and risk management company is seeking a Senior Underwriter to join their Property Division in London. You will be responsible for underwriting, pricing, and negotiating property risks. The ideal candidate will also engage in marketing efforts, develop underwriting strategies, and collaborate with colleagues in a diverse and flexible working environment. This role offers the opportunity to work within the London Market while coaching junior team members.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, price and negotiate risks submitted via the box or e-trading systems.
• Engage in marketing and sales of the brand and product offerings.
• Contribute to the development of underwriting appetite and refine the portfolio strategy.
• Review wordings and contracts.
• Input into account management, portfolio development, and business planning processes.
• Participate in catastrophe modelling and actuarial analysis.
• Cooperate with US & international travel to meet clients and brokers.
• Coach and train more junior colleagues.

Senior Underwriter – Property

Permanent position in the Property Division where our team of underwriters and analysts focus on Property & Alternative Risk lines written within the London Market.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite, price and negotiate risks submitted via the box or e-trading systems.
• Engage in marketing and sales of the Hiscox brand and product offerings, pitching our risk appetite and value proposition.
• Contribute to the development of our underwriting appetite and help refine the portfolio strategy.
• Review wordings and contracts.
• Input into account management, portfolio development and business planning processes.
• Participate in catastrophe modelling and actuarial analysis, embracing and developing this aspect of underwriting.
• Cooperate with US & international travel to meet clients and brokers.
• Coaching and training of more junior colleagues.
