Job description

Are you passionate about supporting young learners who need a different approach to education? Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated, nurturing, and enthusiastic Tutors to deliver 1:1 alternative provision for students in and around Stockbridge.

We have multiple roles available starting in September, both full-time and part-time, to suit your availability and experience.

As a Tutor, you will:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs of students.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Record student progress and report on this weekly.
  • Be understanding, empathetic and patient.
  • Record attendance.
  • Be organised, dependable and creative.
  • Be calm, fair and adaptable.

About you:

  • Nurturing and caring nature
  • Patient, kind and understanding
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Organised
  • Comfortable to support secondary aged pupils with English, Maths and possibly Science too or comfortable to Mentor young people.
  • Have experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs.

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL


      • Experience of working with learners with SEN/SEMH needs

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
