Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a newly formed Trusts and Foundations team to help build new funding relationships with small and medium prospects and grow our existing partnerships with Trusts and Foundations. You will have the opportunity to manage a portfolio of donors, work with our expert teams on a diverse range of proposals from health to climate, education to humanitarian work, and the potential to make a real impact through your work. This role supports CARE International UK's mission to raise funds for CARE’s work globally to shift power and resources to women and local communities.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own portfolio of UK-based Trusts and Foundations, including five- and six-figure partnerships.
• Secure five- and six-figure partnerships and support the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager with larger opportunities.
• Research, identify and engage potential new prospects; steward a small number of existing donors through creative, gold-standard relationship management.
• Collaborate with the Senior Trusts and Foundations Manager, Head of Partnerships & Philanthropy, country and programmes colleagues globally, engaging leadership as needed to progress donor relationships.
• Develop compelling donor proposals, budgets and reports; prepare high-quality donor communications, proposals, and timetables.
• Navigate a complex organisation, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and negotiate externally and internally as required.
• Work both independently and as part of a team; demonstrate proactive problem-solving and a strong commitment to learning and development.

Qualifications

• Experience raising funds from Trusts and Foundations and/or other supporters (e.g., major donors, corporates).
• Dynamic, proactive communicator who enjoys building and maintaining relationships with Trusts and Foundations.
• Experience compiling programmes into concise and compelling donor proposals, budgets and reports.
• Strong interest in international development and humanitarian work; understanding of or openness to learning about international development.
• Ability to navigate a complex organisation, coordinate with different stakeholders, and work independently or as part of a team.
• Commitment to helping others and staying curious; willingness to grow in a key growth area for CARE International UK.
