Join the Close Brothers Treasury Team where you will deliver an operational risk oversight framework and use operational risk management tools (for example, control testing, risk event reports, reviews, RCSAs and KRIs). Working as part of the Treasury team our ideal team member will have previous experience in ensuring policy compliance and good governance practices and helping risk owners meet their risk management deadlines with excellent interpersonal skills and time management.

Responsibilities
  • Support the team to develop the 1st line frameworks for operational and conduct risk management and embed effective governance in Treasury.
  • Engage with Risk & Compliance functions to ensure that changes and internal policy developments are comprehended and translated into implementation plans for the business.
  • Run monthly Quality Assurance activities to test Treasury controls, for instance, approval checks, system access and deal deletion oversight.
  • Develop and increase Quality Assurance activity over key treasury controls, supporting the bank’s strategy to enhance operational controls and engaging with internal and external audits of the department.
  • Work closely with the team and Head of on collaborative tasks.
  • Develop strong relationships with staff at all levels within the teams comprising Treasury.
  • Perform Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSAs) in line with Group Standards. Work with new and existing departments to create, review and iterate on the risk register in response to MI such as risk events.
  • Prepare documentation for monthly operational risk MI meetings, contribute to meeting arrangements and track corrective actions, champion implementation of measurable improvements in line with strategy.

  • Excellent communication skills across face‑to‑face, online and written forms.
  • The ability to organise own time to meet agreed deadlines; planning across short, medium and longer‑term horizons.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with Operational Risk management and its applicability to financial institutions.
