The Role

We are looking for an enthusiastic Transport Planner to join a growing and dynamic transport planning team. You will support senior colleagues across a variety of development-led projects, contributing to transport assessments, feasibility work, modelling, and multi-modal access strategies. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with early career experience who is eager to develop their expertise and progress towards professional accreditation.

Responsibilities of the Transport Planner
  • Prepare Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, and feasibility studies.
  • Undertake traffic analysis, junction capacity modelling, and supporting data assessments.
  • Carry out site visits, accessibility audits, and assist with developing access and infrastructure strategies.
  • Use tools such as AutoCAD, GIS, TRICS, TEMPRO, and JUNCTIONS software to support project delivery.
Requirements of the Transport Planner
  • Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related discipline.
  • Ideally 2–4 years’ experience in development-led transport planning.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and report-writing skills, with knowledge of MfS and DMRB guidance.
  • Experience using relevant modelling or design software (e.g. ARCADY, PICADY, LINSIG, CAD, GIS).
