Job Description

Job Title: EU Transport Planner

Location: Kettering

Salary: Up to £45,000 per year

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm, on site

Are you a Transport Planner with experience in the automotive sector?

We are looking for an experienced EU Transport Planner to join a busy, fast-paced transport operation based in Kettering.

In this role you will plan and manage vehicle routes across the EU, ensuring maximum efficiency, compliance with all regulations, and excellent service levels for customers. Automotive experience is essential for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan daily vehicle routes across the EU, ensuring compliance with driver hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Use geographical knowledge to optimise fleet performance and minimise operational costs.
  • Brief and debrief drivers at the start and end of shifts, resolving queries and monitoring performance.
  • React quickly to changes in schedules and source additional drivers when required.
  • Ensure all KPIs and delivery performance targets are achieved.
  • Liaise with customers and site managers to confirm schedules and provide key information such as ETAs.
  • Maintain clear communication with drivers and the depot throughout the day.
  • Prepare and complete customs documentation (GMR’s, ENS and other required paperwork).
  • Support the Transport Manager with vehicle maintenance planning.

What we are looking for:

  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner within a busy, high-volume transport office.
  • Automotive industry experience is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of tachograph regulations and transport operating systems.
  • Confident in monitoring and managing drivers, with excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organised, methodical, and able to prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • IT literate, numerate, and comfortable using logistics systems.
  • Proactive, dynamic, and meticulous with a strong focus on delivering results.
