Overview

Our client, based in Mallusk is seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join their Transport team on a fixed 6 month contract. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimising transport operations, ensuring efficient logistics and supply chain management. This role requires strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

Hours of work

6am-6pm on a 4 on / 4 off rotational pattern covering all 7 days

Pay

£30,000 per annum

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement transport plans that meet customer requirements while optimising costs and resources.
• Coordinate with drivers, suppliers, and customers to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Monitor transport operations to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and service quality.
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Collaborate with the logistics team to ensure seamless integration of transport plans within the overall supply chain strategy.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
• Utilise IT systems to track shipments, manage schedules, and communicate effectively with all parties involved.
• Prepare reports on transport performance metrics for management review.

Experience

• Proven experience in transport planning or a related field is preferred.
• Strong management skills with the ability to lead a team effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and general computer literacy.
• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with a focus on customer service excellence.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• A background in logistics or supply chain management is advantageous but not essential.
