We are looking for a Transport Manager to take operational leadership and budget responsibility for managing a safe and efficient operation to help achieve OPERATIONAL STANDARDS and customer requirements.

✅ WHAT YOU'LL BRING
  • Can lead from the front, winning hearts and minds and providing coaching and mentorship
  • Hold an International CPC Qualification (essential)
  • Have excellent organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Aren't afraid to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in when needed
  • In‑depth O‑Licence compliance: DVSA standards, OCRS management, tachograph/WTD/RTD, driver hours, defect & maintenance regimes, incident reporting.
  • H&S qualifications: IOSH Managing Safely (minimum) or NEBOSH General Certificate (preferred).
  • Driver management expertise: Driver CPC oversight, fatigue/risk management, rostering, agency management, industrial relations.
  • Strong multi‑drop/last‑mile experience: planning dense routes, time‑window adherence, late‑cutoff handling, and store back‑door delivery protocols.
  • Temperature‑controlled operations (if chilled/frozen): fridge monitoring, temperature records, trailer pre‑trip checks, product segregation.
  • Commercial acumen: budget/P&L ownership, cost‑to‑serve, rate cards, fleet utilisation, OTIF/DIFOT
  • Performance routines: daily/weekly reviews, driver scorecards, CI huddles, action logs.
