A leading environmental services provider in East Midlands is seeking an experienced Transport Manager to oversee the transport operations for Nottinghamshire and the wider East Treatment region. Salary: GBP42,500 per annum plus company car / car allowance, bonus and Veolia benefits

Hours: 40 hours per week Monday to Friday no weekends

Location: Nottingham

What will you be doing?
  • Take full control and responsibility for the transport function of Nottinghamshire and future wider East Treatment region
  • Ensure compliance with O'Licence requirements, transport legislation and internal procedures.
  • Manage fleet maintenance matters ensuring best value and legal compliance
  • Liaise with the contract financial staff to produce financial management information for production of monthly profit and loss accounts, accurate forecasting, involvement of CAPEX
  • Liaise and work with all local regulatory bodies (EA, HSE, Transport Ministry) and ensure associated compliance of obligations
  • Line management of staff including recruitment, appraisals and disciplinary matters
  • Attending meetings as required and to cover for the General Manager in their absence
  • Challenge existing practices periodically by adopting review processes to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is embedded to ensure an efficient and effective service delivery
What are we looking for?
  • An experienced Transport Manager with a good understanding of operating relevant waste management services
  • CPC is an essential requirement
  • Understanding of relevant Transport, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire others to achieve with the ability to act on own initiative
