Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Transport & Customer Service Coordinator.

In this role, you will co-ordinate the operations of temperature-controlled shipping containers from departure in Morocco, through transit and on to arrival in the UK. Your primary focus will be to encompass the entire process thus owning the service end to end, dealing with the receiver, planning and coordinating the delivery process and ensuring the integrity and timely transport of perishable cargo to its destination. Effective communication with multiple stakeholders and the ability to handle time-critical tasks are essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pre-planning from the moment of collection through to final delivery. Liaising with the UK receivers in order to meet the required transit times and coordinating an effective delivery schedule.
  • Plan and execute the delivery of reefer/containers upon arrival in the UK, including arranging transportation from the port to the final destination. Considering factors such as truck availability, route optimization, and delivery timelines are essential.
  • Engage with port authorities, customs officials, logistics partners, shipping agents, haulage contractors, and customers to ensure clear and timely communication. Keep all parties informed and aligned throughout the delivery process, especially for time-critical shipments.
  • Track the temperature of reefer containers throughout the delivery process, collaborating closely with haulage contractors to ensure proper handling and temperature control during transportation.
  • Complete all relevant documentation related to haulage operations accurately and promptly, including delivery instructions, transport permits, and billing records, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Be available for evening and weekend on-call duty to address any urgent issues or emergencies related to haulage operations, providing timely assistance and troubleshooting as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in maritime logistics, particularly in managing temperature-controlled cargo or in an FMCG environment, is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • High computer literacy using online logistical computer systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on accuracy and quality assurance.
  • Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts on a rotational basis for on-call support.
  • Must have UK right to work status.
