Job description

Join us as a Training Instructor and become part of one of the most exciting and ambitious infrastructure projects in the UK. At Hinkley Point C (HPC), we're constructing two new nuclear reactors - the first in a new generation of nuclear power stations - helping Britain reach Net Zero by supplying low‑carbon electricity to around six million homes.

As a Training Instructor, you'll be part of the Nuclear Skills Alliance (NSA) EPR Project Training Team, supporting the HPC Construction and Commissioning Operations (CommOps) organisation. The majority of your work will involve delivering class‑based and scenario‑based training, ensuring our workforce is confident, capable and prepared to respond effectively in a safety‑critical environment.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a supportive team with a broad mix of skills, experience and knowledge - and to be part of something genuinely meaningful.

Delivering approved training materials clearly and effectively to a diverse audience.

  • Leading classroom‑based and scenario‑based sessions with a strong focus on fire watcher training, IOSH accredited programmes, industrial safety, and emergency preparedness
  • Supporting workforce development in areas such as incident response, safety awareness, and safe working practices in high‑hazard environments
  • Contributing to team objectives alongside personal targets
  • Managing training schedules and maintaining accurate completion records
  • Working with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure training remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with project needs
  • Driving SMART actions and following them through to successful delivery

Whether you're an experienced trainer or someone with the right attitude looking to develop in this area, we'd love to hear from you. If you're enthusiastic, proactive and people‑focused, we'll support you to grow your skills and succeed in the role.

We're looking for someone who:
  • Brings a flexible, positive, can‑do attitude and wants to make a difference
  • Communicates clearly and adapts their style to suit different audiences
  • Enjoys presenting, instructing and supporting others to develop
  • Is organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Works well in a team and is solutions‑focused
  • Has basic IT skills (Microsoft Office applications such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, OneNote)
  • Has an understanding of, or an interest in, training delivery in fire watcher duties, safety, and emergency preparedness
