Working Hours

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 6 am to 3 pm.

Compensation

Pay £12.73 per hour plus bonus. After training completion, pay rises to £13.42 per hour plus bonus.

Transport

Company provided transport from Bedford Town Centre is available if required.

Job Summary

We are actively seeking applications for the role of trainee meat trimmer/butcher to join an industry leader that provides opportunities for training and progression to the right candidates. You will be working in a production environment within a meat processing plant in one of Europe's leading food companies; suppliers of choice to a range of leading local, national and international supermarket, foodservice and manufacturing businesses exporting to over 50 countries worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Using a knife in a safe manner at all times in line with company procedures.
  • Boning and trimming beef products following customer specifications.
  • Confidently cutting product to weight and thickness specifications.
  • Advising production management on issues with raw material quality and/or specification.
  • Working as part of a team in a fast‑paced environment to ensure production runs smoothly.
  • Maintain current yields and quality standards.
  • Possess good communication and team working skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on your own initiative whilst working as part of a team striving to achieve high levels of customer service.
  • A desire to progress within the business and demonstrate a strong willingness to undertake all training required for the role.
  • Experience within a similar role or within the food industry would be advantageous - however, full training will be given.
