Qualifications

Trainee Session Leader Educational Support

We are looking for a caring and adaptable Trainee Session Leader Educational Support to support children and young people in an Alternative Education Provision. This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping students who may struggle socially or academically and who wants to develop their skills towards a Session Leader role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of structured learning sessions for children with SEMH/SEND needs.
  • Help children develop emotional regulation, confidence, and social skills.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, routines, and engagement in learning.
  • Follow safeguarding procedures and maintain professional boundaries.
  • Participate in a training plan to develop towards a full Session Leader role.
Qualifications & Experience
  • At least 1 year’s experience working with children with SEMH/SEND needs.
  • Relevant training in supporting SEMH/SEND students.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive, adaptable approach.
  • A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
Hours & Pay
  • Part-time or full-time, term-time only (39 weeks).
  • Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 15:30 (sessions 09:00-12:00 & 12:30-15:30).
  • Hourly pay: from £15 per hour (based on experience).
