Role Overview

Trainee Service Engineer / Graduate Service Engineer / Junior Service Engineer required to join a leading engineering supplier.

The Successful Trainee Service Engineer / Graduate Service Engineer / Junior Service Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, fault finding and maintenance on compressed air equipment including compressors, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers, nitrogen generators and associated compressed air products at customer sites across Midlands with occasional travel to Birmingham for training and parts collection.

Responsibilities
  • Provide electrical and mechanical repair, service and maintenance of compressed air equipment at customer sites.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance, provide advice, diagnostics, fault finding of compressed air systems, nitrogen generators, vacuum pumps, blowers & dryers and other compressed air products.
  • Install compressed air/water & nitrogen pipelines into all forms of the manufacturing industry.
  • Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on various compressed air equipment.
  • Liaise with various engineering departments.
  • Work at customer sites throughout Midlands with occasional travel to Birmingham for training and parts collection.
Qualifications
  • Willingness to learn complicated electrical / mechanical engineering systems.
  • Experience as a Trainee Service Engineer, Apprentice Engineer, Apprentice Technician, Graduate Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Marine Engineer, Entry level Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Field Service Engineer or similar.
  • Hands‑on experience in electrical and/or mechanical domains with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong understanding of three‑phase electrics and controls, with hands‑on experience preferred.
  • Mechanical or electrical qualification, apprentice trained, FGas, NVQ level 3, city & guilds, HNC, HND or similar would be a plus.
  • Determination to learn the compressed air industry and related fields with enthusiasm for career progression opportunities.
  • Flexibility to travel across Midlands with occasional travel to Birmingham for training and parts collection.
