Job Summary and key responsibilities

The Claims Handler is responsible for processing rental warranty claims efficiently and accurately, ensuring excellent customer service and compliance with internal and external regulations. This role involves managing a caseload, collaborating with colleagues, and escalating complex cases to the Senior Claims Handler when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of claims, ensuring timely and accurate assessment and resolution.
  • Review all necessary documentation and evidence to support claims decisions.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and clarify claim requirements.
  • Ensure all claims adhere to company policies, procedures, and UK regulatory standards.
  • Identify and elevate complex or high-priority cases to the Senior Claims Handler for further review.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all claims activity in the claims management system.
  • Contribute to the department’s objectives by meeting individual and team performance targets.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills.

  • Previous experience in claims handling or a customer service role (rental warranty or insurance experience preferred).
  • Basic understanding of claims management processes and UK regulatory requirements.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy caseload effectively.
  • Problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify when to elevate a case for additional support.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in claims processing.
  • Proficiency in claims systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
