Overview

As a Trainee Nursing Assistant at HC-One, you will be a role model, embodying kindness in every aspect of your work in our Memory Care, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. You will help ensure residents’ care planning arrangements are delivered impeccably, support residents’ choice and independence, and keep resident wellbeing at the forefront whether you’re assisting with a nursing task delegated to you, reporting an accident, or spending time with someone showing dementia symptoms.

Main duties

This is a new Trainee Nursing Assistant role created to upskill Senior Care Assistants and develop them to take on responsibilities similar to a Nursing Assistant. The role will assist in tasks such as administering medicines, wound care, catheter care and other direct clinical tasks under the supervision and guidance of a qualified nurse. A salary increase is provided upon successful completion of the development program.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with administering medicines under supervision of a qualified nurse
  • Support wound care and catheter care as directed
  • Contribute to direct clinical tasks under supervision
  • Support care planning processes to reflect person-centred care
  • Help maintain resident wellbeing and safety
Qualifications and experience
  • Essential: S/NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Desirable: S/NVQ or Diploma Level 3 in Health & Social Care
  • Experience: Essential – background in Health & Social Care with leadership responsibilities around administering medicines and leading a shift
  • Desirable: Prior leadership experience in a similar role
