The traineeship

This is a structured 18‑24 month traineeship, depending on individual progression. There is potential for salary increases during the traineeship, alongside strong long‑term career prospects within aerospace inspection and engineering.

Trainee Mechanical Inspectors Duties
  • Learn mechanical inspection and testing techniques for aerospace components
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and test procedures
  • Produce accurate inspection and quality documentation
  • Use SAP to track components, record progress, and manage non‑conformances
  • Handle materials safely in line with health & safety requirements
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and lean practices
Trainee Mechanical Inspector Profile

This role suits someone with a hands‑on, practical mindset and a genuine interest in engineering. If you enjoy working with tools, mechanical systems, engines, vehicles, or technical projects, you'll be well suited.

Essential requirements
  • GCSEs at Level 5 or above in Maths, English, and Physics (or equivalent)
