Trainee Gates and Barriers Engineer – Location: Slough

Salary: £26,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

Are you hands-on, practical, and eager to learn a skilled trade? We're looking for a motivated Trainee Gates and Barriers Engineer to join our growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to start a long-term career in the automation and access control industry, working with electric gates, barriers, bollards, and security systems. You\'ll receive full training from experienced engineers and gain all the skills you need to become a fully qualified professional in this specialist field.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the installation, servicing, and repair of automated gates, barriers, and access control systems.
  • Work alongside senior engineers to learn fault finding and diagnostics.
  • Help ensure all work is carried out to industry safety standards.
  • Use electrical tools and testing equipment safely and correctly.
  • Keep accurate job notes and maintain a tidy workspace.
  • Attend training sessions to build your technical knowledge.
What We're Looking For
  • A genuine interest in engineering, electrics, or mechanics.
  • Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills.
  • Good practical ability and attention to detail.
  • Reliable, hardworking, and a good team player.
  • Full UK driving licence (or working towards one).
