Opportunity

A hugely exciting and highly sought after opportunity has arisen for a trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner to work in our Emergency Department at RCHT. The RCHT ED ACP team has been well established for over 5 years and the whole team are very excited about the possibility of supporting a trainee in ED.

We welcome applications from a variety of registered professionals.

The post holder will be responsible for their own autonomous workload within the designated clinical area of SDEC.

The post holder will be developed into a highly competent, credible and experienced autonomous practitioner who uses their breath of knowledge, specialist knowledge, professional visibility and advanced clinical skills across the 4 pillars of practice to support and provide professional advice to patients, carers and colleagues.

The post holder within their practice area will be able to take a relevant history; perform a holistic physical and mental health examination; undertake clinical assessment to establish a management plan and evaluate the progress of that plan within the limitations of their scope of practice. This will be carried out under the non-direct supervision of a medical mentor. They will demonstrate advanced clinical judgement and critical decision-making skills based upon evidence-based practice working across all 4 pillars of advanced clinical practice.

Core Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate treatments and interventions of Emergency Medicine.
  • Perform accurate clinical procedures appropriate to the area of practice, from undertaking history taking and examination of the patient, including further invasive testing, diagnostics and treatments requiring highly developed skills and precision.
  • Undertake the role of Independent/supplementary Non-Medical Prescriber (NMP) within the clinical setting of Acute and Emergency specialty and in line with Trust policy/national guidance.
