Trainee Accountant

Location: Newcastle under Lyme College

Permanent 37 hours per week

Salary: £26,560 - £29,480

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the very best colleges in the country. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual with excellent communication and organisation skills to take on this role in the Finance department.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To be an active and contributing member of a busy and innovative Finance team
• To take an active role in the monitoring and reconciliation of all bank accounts in line with a monthly timetable
• To generate monthly financial journals including accruals and prepayments
• To undertake financial analysis to assist in the generation of monthly management accounts
• To assist in the preparation of audited annual accounts

Required Skills and Experience:

• Has previous experience of working in a finance environment
• Is working towards a professional CCAB qualification
• Works with accuracy and pays attention to detail
• Has the ability to organise own workload and to work to tight deadlines
• Has excellent communication skills
