Trading Assistant / Trainee Trader

Pin Point Recruitment is proud to be working with a highly respected and long-established precious metals merchant based in Beckton. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join their Trading team as a Trading Assistant / Trainee Trader, offering full training, long-term development, and the chance to build a career in a specialist and fast-moving industry.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Head of Trading, you will play a key support role within the busy Trading department. Your responsibilities will include:

• Monitoring and maintaining metal positions in real time
• Assisting with daily reconciliation of trading P&L
• Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently
• Handling customer enquiries with professionalism and confidence
• Engaging in retail sales of bullion products
• Supporting the trading team with administrative and operational tasks
• Learning the fundamentals of precious metal trading, with structured on-the-job training provided

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), ideally in Economics, Mathematics or a related field
• Interest or knowledge in commodity trading and/or small-scale engineering/manufacturing (advantageous)
• Ability to work independently, use initiative, and generate ideas
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Sage products (Sage 200 in particular) would be an advantage
• A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn—full training is provided
