Job description
Overview

Trade Compliance Manager (6-Month FTC)

Location: Cambridgeshire (Hybrid – 1 day onsite per week)

Salary: Competitive

SRG are currently looking for an experienced Trade Compliance Manager to join a successful client on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract. This is a hybrid role, with just one day a week onsite in Cambridgeshire.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll take the lead on sanctions, export controls, and chemical compliance. You’ll be joining a team that values clarity, rigour, and practical solutions — and you’ll play a key role in the team.

What we’re looking for
  • Proven experience working across UK (OFSI), EU, US (OFAC), and UN sanctions regimes. That includes experience with ownership and control rules, list-based and sectoral measures, licensing, and navigating US nexus/secondary sanctions risks. You should also be comfortable working with high-risk jurisdictions like Iran, Syria, and Cuba.
  • Experience in building and running sanctions control frameworks - design policies, guide risk assessments, and implement controls like screening, banking/payment approvals and contract clauses.
  • Experience in classifying hardware, software, and technology - and understanding how they fit under UK Strategic Export Control Lists, EU Dual-Use regulations, or US EAR.
  • Experience with UK/EU and US drug precursor controls - ideally including licensing processes with the UK Home Office and the US DEA.
