Job summary

A leading packaging solutions company is looking for a Toolmaker to join their team in Morley, UK. This role involves servicing and repairing injection mould tools in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering, along with strong mechanical skills and experience in tool servicing. You will work 42 hours per week on a rotating shift pattern and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the production department.

Qualifications

• Hands-on, detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrates sound decision-making based on data.

Responsibilities

• Service mould tools for use in the Production department.
• Maintain and test mould hot runner systems.
• Disassemble and reassemble moulds.
• Perform metal polishing and fault identification.
• Respond to tool breakdowns and execute timely repairs.
• Advise on new tooling projects and design improvements.
• Manufacture fixtures and spare parts for tooling.
• Maintain high standards of record keeping and housekeeping.
• Collaborate with the team to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills

Experience servicing and repairing injection mould tools

Ability to identify mould vs. process‑related faults

Skilled in metal polishing and tool assembly / disassembly

Proficient in using internal systems and maintaining documentation

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Education

Toolmaking apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering
