Job Role: Toolmaker

Location: Leicester

Shift: Days Mon-Thurs: 8am-5pm, Fri: 8am-4pm

Pay Rate: up to £18.00 per hour

About the Company

We are recruiting on behalf of our client, a specialist in high-precision plastic injection moulds for UK and European industries. The business is growing rapidly, with new facilities and machinery creating opportunities to expand their team.

The Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to support a variety of projects in their busy toolroom.

Requirements
  • 5+ years in toolmaking or similar industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
  • Safe use of toolroom machinery.
  • Able to read 2D/3D engineering drawings (desirable).
  • Hydraulics and Pneumatics knowledge
  • Forklift licence (desirable).
  • Confident using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometres, gauges, DTIs).
Responsibilities
  • Manual grinding, milling and lathe.
  • Fitting inserts and tool halves.
  • Assembly/disassembly of mould tools.
  • Polishing and finishing.
  • Drilling cooling channels.
  • Use of 3D CAD/ CAM systems
  • Setting and running CNC Milling machines
  • Running of EDM machines and electrode manufacture
