Therapy Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Therapy HLTA to join a specialist team supporting children and young people with a range of physical, functional, and sensory needs.

Hours

Term time only, 35 hours per week, 8:45AM to 4:30PM Mondays and Tuesdays, 8:45AM to 4:15PM Wednesdays and Thursdays, 8:45AM to 3:45PM Fridays

Salary

£25,098 plus £1,268 SEN allowance

Responsibilities
  • Deliver and support therapy programmes under the guidance of therapists.
  • Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to embed therapeutic approaches in the classroom.
  • Provide coaching and role-modelling for staff to ensure consistent use of therapy strategies and assistive technology.
  • Help coordinate and maintain specialist equipment to support students' independence and wellbeing.
  • Lead small group and individual interventions to help students achieve their goals.
Qualifications
  • Has significant experience as an HLTA or in leading therapeutic/educational interventions.
  • Understands child development and SEND.
  • Can work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Has excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach and support others.
