Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in the UK is looking for Theatre Support Workers to join their dedicated team at Luton & Dunstable Hospital. In this role, you will assist in patient care activities and help maintain cleanliness and safety in theatres, supporting the theatre team. Ideal candidates will have effective communication skills and the ability to contribute positively to a diverse environment. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a vital team in a new Acute Services Block.

Overview

We are currently recruiting for Theatre Support Workers to join our dynamic and dedicated team for a variety of Theatre specialities. Are you passionate about providing exceptional care in a dynamic, patient-centred environment? Interested in joining us at Luton & Dunstable Hospital as a Theatre Support Worker.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute in a variety of activities of theatre patient/client care to the level of experience and assessed competence that he/she has acquired.
  • The service users come from a variety of cultural backgrounds and the TSW must be able to communicate effectively.
  • They will support the Theatre team to maintain and ensure a clean, safe environment in theatres.
  • This will include assisting in a range of domestic/environmental including some cleaning, keeping the corridors tidy and free of clutter, reporting maintenance problems and helping to monitor repairs.
  • Furthermore, they are expected to assist the domestics to maintain the upkeep of the kitchen, coffee room, changing rooms and patient reception area.

Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides hospital services to a growing population of around 700,000 people living across Bedfordshire and the surrounding areas across two busy hospital sites in Bedford and Luton. Both hospital sites offer key services such as A&E, Obstetrics-led Maternity and Paediatrics. It is an exciting time at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital as maternity, neonatal, critical care and theatre services recently moved into the brand new Acute Services Block (ASB) and New Ward Block in Autumn 2025.
All new staff will be subject to a probationary period covering their first six months in post. Travel between hospital sites may be required.
