About the Role

Are you passionate about working in Perioperative Care? Whether you are an experienced HCPC Registered Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) or NMC Registered Nurse trained in either Scrub or Anaesthetics, if you have post‑qualification experience and are on a preceptorship pathway, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

About CUH Theatres

CUH Theatres, which includes both Addenbrooke’s Hospital and the Rosie Hospital, employ over 600 staff who work across a total of 37 operating theatres. We are a regional Major Trauma Centre and serve a very wide and complex population.

Career Development

Aspiring candidates who wish to join our team as a Band 5 ODP or RN can explore numerous development opportunities, including our PG Cert in Perioperative Medicine, offered in partnership with University College London (UCL), as well as prospects for further education and professional growth leading to a Master’s degree.

Responsibilities
  • Work as part of the multidisciplinary team, providing safe and effective care for patients during the perioperative period.
  • Undertake the management of a defined clinical area in accordance with own competence and level of experience when required.
  • Participate as an integral member of the theatre team.
  • Supervise and train students and junior staff.

Qualifications
  • Full NMC registration.
  • Experience as a Theatre Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Internationally trained nurses who have not passed their OSCE will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected, so please do not apply.
