Overview

BSC specializes in the global design and manufacture of custom RF and Microwave Solutions. Utilising core and advanced filter technologies as well as their integration in higher level sub-assemblies for the latest RF and microwave products to connect and protect people in defence, communications, aerospace and space. We’re now recruiting a TEST TECHNICIAN to join our highly skilled, friendly and customer focussed Production team. Working in a clean, laboratory environment, you have your own individual workspace. Working independently and as part of a team, you’ll complete a range of test activities to test fit for purpose, alignment to specifications, vibration, response to heat and other activities to ensure our filters meet customer requirements.

Location: York, YOR, GB

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Responsibilities
  • Making precision adjustments and mods using microscopes, scalpels and other small hand tools to manipulate tuning screws and RF tracks to meet amplitude and frequency ranges.
  • Recording and taking data from analysers and other equipment ensuring filters meet specs.
  • Fault finding, highlighting and where able resolving product issues and errors ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Qualifications
  • Confident and organised and wanting to learn our processes, how they work and what you’ll need to do to achieve the right standard.
  • Patient and methodical in putting things together and when necessary, tinkering/adjusting them to get the right result.
  • Someone who enjoys problem solving, finding faults and suggesting solutions.
  • Experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing environment, meaning you can work to exacting standards and design.
  • Have a high attention to detail, combined with a passion for tidiness in your work area!
  • Enjoy making positive teamwork contributions to our highly motivated Production teams, delivering continuous improvement and meeting targets.
Additional information

Previous experience in these responsibilities is advantageous, but we’re interested in those keen to learn and contribute to a growing company. Full training is provided. This is a days role working Monday-Friday. When business need arises, there may also be a requirement for shift work.
