A leading infrastructure firm in Plymouth is looking for an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator. In this role, you will coordinate Temporary Works on critical projects while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. Ideal candidates will have a degree in civil engineering, at least 5 years of experience in construction or heavy civils, and a strong understanding of Temporary Works procedures. KierBAM are a Joint Venture (JV) partnership between Kier and BAM Infrastructure. We are currently delivering the redevelopment project at a Royal Navy site located in Plymouth and are seeking an experienced Temporary Works Coordinator. Joining the design / engineering team, you will be responsible for co‑ordinating all aspects of Temporary Works on one of the major projects ongoing in the dockyard.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks. Candidates must hold a passport from an EU, NATO, Five Eyes, or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
As a Temporary Works Coordinator, you will be responsible for the following:
Demonstrate a personal commitment to the projects Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies and management system requirements and expectations.
Develop and maintain an awareness of SHE hazards and associated risks and demonstrate a commitment to eliminate or minimise those risks.
Understand and effectively undertake SHE accountabilities.
Manage and coordinate Temporary Works Supervisors.
Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Joint Venture policies and processes.
Provide practical support and mentoring to less experienced members of the temporary works team.
Degree qualification in civil engineering equivalent is desirable.
We will consider personnel working towards Chartership / Incorporation with IStructE, ICE or other appropriate professional body.
Minimum of 5 years experience as a TWC on heavy civils / construction projects, preferably with experience in the nuclear sector.
Experience of overseeing a broad range of reinforced concrete, formwork and falsework Temporary Works schemes as a TWC or in part as a TWS.
Ideally experience in design and / or engineering management.
Strong working knowledge of Temporary Works Management procedures.
Experience in the delivery of major infrastructure projects.
A knowledge or experience of structural steel building buildings would be useful.
