Job summary

A reputable recruitment agency is seeking a reliable and experienced Financial Accountant for a temporary position in Abingdon until May 2026. The role demands a minimum of 2-3 years of financial or bookkeeping experience, with AAT qualification as a minimum and knowledge of Xero being preferable. Salary ranges from £35,000 to £45,000 per annum. You'll facilitate key accounting activities across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and assist with payroll and monthly management accounts. Parking is available on-site.

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Accountant

• Reporting to the Financial Controller, as a Financial Accountant you will be at the centre of our companies' activities, facilitating the smooth running of the UK and USA Accounts systems.
• Your duties will cover both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities and extend to assisting with monthly management accounts, payroll and credit control.
• You should be qualified to AAT and ideally working your way to Professional Accounting qualifications.

About you

• Min 2-3 years of financial / bookkeeping experience
• Qualified Accountant, AAT as a minimum
• Knowledge of Accounting Software - preferably Xero
• Exceptional interpersonal / Customer service skills
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)
• Experience (or willing to learn) of Payroll systems
• Attention to detail, ability to follow processes and procedures
• Able to work without supervision with a positive can-do attitude
