Qualifications

  • 1–2 years’ independent working experience in quantity surveying, estimating or commercial support.
  • Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or Estimating.
  • Experience in groundworks, civils, or refurbishment projects is highly beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate information and reports to senior management and clients.
  • Support management in delivering multiple projects.
  • Manage deadlines and report progress.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities, Specifications, and Schedule of Rates.
  • Administer various forms of contracts during the construction period.

Salary : £14.30 – £19.20 Per Hour Dependent on Experience

Location : Sheffield

Duration : Ongoing

Hours : 07 : 30 – 16 : 00 / 08 : 00 – 16 : 30 / 08 : 30 – 17 : 00

This role is ideal for someone who has 1–2 years’ independent working experience in quantity surveying, estimating or commercial support. Perfect for someone with a degree (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related discipline, who is now looking to take the next step in their career and grow within a busy, hands-on commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clear, timely and accurate information, advice, and reports to senior management, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Support senior team members in the day-to-day management and delivery of multiple projects.
  • Actively manage deadlines and report progress to supervisors.
  • Follow quality assurance processes and ensure standard documentation is used for external communications.
  • Attend meetings, contribute, and produce accurate minutes.
  • Carry out site visits and inspections as required.
  • Work across multiple projects, managing a high volume of tasks simultaneously.
  • Assist with measurement, estimating, pricing, and liaising with suppliers.
  • Prepare Bills of Quantities, Specifications, and Schedule of Rates.
  • Compile tenders and quotations for works.
  • Administer various forms of contracts during the construction period.
  • Prepare and administer interim valuations, contractor claims, and settlement of final accounts.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, financial records, and contemporary project records.
  • Assist in the valuation of claims and variations.
  • Support the preparation of financial reports in accordance with company requirements.
  • Provide general support to Commercial and Contract Managers.
  • Demonstrate effective project management skills and organisation across all tasks.

Who We’re Looking For
  • 1–2 years’ relevant experience.
