Job Overview

Gap Technical is searching for an Assistant Engineer / Technician to work at their facility near Middlewich. The role is a 2‑shift (Earlies / Lates) position with a pay rate of £14.00 per hour.

Shift Times

6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm

Key Responsibilities

• Provide both proactive and reactive support for all automated systems on site.
• Respond to conveyor system jams and stoppages.
• Reset emergency stop buttons as required.
• Log issues and complete maintenance records using computerised systems.
• Promote and maintain safe working practices, escalating HSS concerns as needed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by reporting recurring issues and suggesting solutions.
• Ensure high availability of equipment to support warehouse operations.
• Conduct routine cleaning of automation equipment in line with hygiene standards.

Person Specification

• Basic qualifications and computer literacy.
