An educational institution in Peterborough is seeking a Technician Trainer for their Electrical Installations team. In this hands-on role, you will manage workshops, ensuring tools and materials are available for all learners. The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry, strong communication skills, and relevant qualifications. We are seeking to recruit a Technician Trainer to join our Electrical Installations team at Peterborough College. Working closely with the team, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day running of workshops ensuring that there are tools and materials readily available for all learners. This is a hands-on role, supervising and coaching students whilst assisting the tutors. If you have a real flair for passing your knowledge onto others, a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to act as a role model, this could be just the job for you.
• Manage the day-to-day running of workshops and ensure tools and materials are available for all learners. • Supervise and coach students while assisting tutors. • Organise and maintain store rooms and manage relevant equipment and materials.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the construction industry and a proven track record of organising and maintaining store rooms to an appropriate standard, with experience of using relevant equipment and materials. You will require a Level 2 qualification in the relevant subject area and a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy (GCSE English Language and Maths grade C/4 or above) or other Level 2 equivalent qualifications. Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts. Ability to work flexibly, prioritise tasks, and support young people of mixed abilities.
Salary: Point 16 - £24,430
Hours: 37 hours per week, all year round
