Job summary

Our site in Bo'ness employs over 1,000 people and produces food-to-go salads and salad accompaniments for a range of customers. The site is located 3.5 miles from Linlithgow and 8 miles from Falkirk.

What you'll be doing

We're looking for a proactive, hands‑on Technical professional to help drive food safety, quality, and compliance across the site. You'll support key technical systems, play an active role in audits and NPD activity, and work closely with teams to deliver high standards in a fast‑paced environment. This is a great opportunity to make an impact, support continuous improvement, and grow within a collaborative technical team.

Role Accountabilities
  • To support & develop the technical systems to meet business, customer, industry standards, taking responsibility of the day‑to‑day management and maintenance of some or all the following: allergen management procedures, allergen risk assessments, QMS, HACCP, process validations, technical reports, and nutritional surveillance.
  • To ensure effective, professional, timely communication. Contribute to customer audits and visits, supporting in areas of expertise.
  • To conduct audits as part of the internal QMS. To trend actions and non‑conformances and to report into the relevant forums.
  • Work with the team to ensure all changes associated with launches, delists, and promo activities are implemented to support the operation teams and achieves the correct deadlines.
  • To support others in the technical team in all tasks as required and be flexible to cover different work, also be involved in projects as requested.
  • To operate in a safe working manner and support the site on continuous improvements relating to health and safety.
What we're looking for
  • Previous demonstrable experience in a chilled food manufacturing environment in at least one of the following disciplines: Technical; Development; or graduated in related discipline
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to multi‑task and manage own time/workload
  • Strong understanding of HACCP within food industry and fundamental steps of risk management
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Is aware of the business issues; trials; development concepts and customer expectations
  • A pragmatic approach to problem solving and is agile in finding solutions
  • Vigilant with good attention to detail and spots opportunities for improvement
  • A self‑starter who is inquisitive and driven to improve
