Job summary

A company in construction sales is looking for a Technical Sales Advisor to act as a key contact for customers engaging in sales of structural building products. The ideal candidate will have sales experience in construction or building materials, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of concrete reinforcement. This role offers a salary between £28,000 and £30,000, plus bonuses and benefits including a pension and health cash plan.

Role Overview

As a Technical Sales Advisor – Structural Building Products, you will act as a key technical point of contact for customers and negotiate sales for a manufactured range of construction accessories.

Responsibilities
  • Advising customers on engineered technical systems such as reinforced concrete spacers, construction chemicals, waterproof and gas barriers/membranes, and technical products including Startabox continuity systems, shear rails, threaded rebar couplers, and shear dowel connectors.
  • Negotiating sales, preparing quotes using pricing guidelines, and maintaining accurate contract records.
  • Identifying new and existing project opportunities, reviewing and following up on open/lost quotes, and providing product take-offs and technical support.
  • Selling into housing contractors, ground workers, concrete frame contractors, and civil engineering contractors.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Sales or customer service experience in construction or building materials.
  • Engineering background or understanding of concrete reinforcement is advantageous; no prior sales experience is acceptable.
  • Graduate civil engineers are open to consideration.
  • Experience selling precast products or construction accessories is highly advantageous.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Personable, people‑person, driven and enthusiastic.
Expectations

A typical order value will be between £500 – £1,500 but can range up to £50,000.
