Job description

As the Technical Manager, your responsibilities include managing and coordinating the external consultant team throughout all project procurement stages, including Land & Planning, Commercial, Production, Sales, and Adoptions. You will support the Project team in all related matters, ensuring all disciplines are aligned and synchronized. Your duties involve reviewing layout drawings, supplier, and manufacturer details, assisting with Building Regulation Technical Approvals, and updating internal teams on progress. You will efficiently resolve and coordinate issues arising from external consultants.

What you will do:

  1. Planning: Appraise land opportunities, review applications, manage planning conditions, and prepare S73/S96a applications.
  2. Detailed Design: Prepare design tenders, maintain design schedules, oversee working drawing packages, lead design meetings, secure Building Regulations Approvals, ensure environmental constraints are considered, review supplier and manufacturer information, and manage design changes and value engineering.
  3. Site Support & Supervision: Ensure site processes are followed, resolve site queries, and support the sales team.
  4. General: Participate in key meetings and attend sites as necessary.

What you will have:

  • Thorough knowledge of development/technical processes, with experience as a Technical Coordinator or Manager preferred.
  • Industry-related qualification and professional accreditation (RICS, CIOB, ICE, RIBA) or working towards it.
  • Ability to work independently, excellent communication, team management skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
