Are you an experienced and technical leader within the ecology sector looking for a new and exciting challenge?

Well then this could be an amazing opportunity for you!

The Role

Here at RSK Biocensus part of the wider RSK Group, we are currently looking for someone who can lead the coordination of ecology surveys, data management, mitigation, and reporting in relation to species specialism.

This would be a long term secondment role supporting one of our major clients.

You will be supporting the Technical Lead for bats, mammals, ornithology, habitat and BNG in the formulation of ecological survey work and the technical aspects of assessment one of the above technical functions.

This role will also require you to work with a team of ecologists in delivering survey work, analysis and reporting to support the assessment process. We are looking for an individual with specialist knowledge of ecology (species specialism / Habitats and BNG) and experience of being involved in the delivery of this work on infrastructure projects.

Other responsibilities
  • Assisting the Technical Lead in scoping and specifying technical impact assessment work.
  • Contributing to the technical aspects of the delivery of assessment work.
  • Drafting and text for assessment reports.

The successful candidate would require a Full UK driving licence and use of own vehicle.

Key Skills & Experience

Ideally you will have previous experience of working at a high level within teams focusing on Habitat and BNG deliverables, as well as experience in prescribing and implementing mitigation measures.

Experience of ensuring compliance with the client’s quality, cost and time requirements would also be desirable.

Qualifications
  • Qualification or equivalent professional experience in a relevant environment or technical discipline.
  • Chartered or full accredited membership (or working towards one) from a relevant professional institute or equivalent.
Personal Attributes
  • Excellent health and safety awareness.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Document production abilities using various software inc. excel, word, GIS, PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organisational skills
