Technical Buyer

This opportunity is with one of Leamington's most respected engineering employers, known for excellent staff retention and a supportive working culture. They are now looking for a Technical Buyer to join their team.

The company offers outstanding benefits including:

  • Early Friday finish, with hours of 08 00 Monday to Thursday and 08 00 Friday
The Technical Buyer role
  • Work closely with engineering teams to review designs and identify cost‑saving opportunities
  • Benchmark prices, negotiate improvements, and ensure value for money
  • Source new suppliers and subcontractors when required
  • Assess supplier capabilities and recommend suitable alternatives
  • Evaluate risks when changing suppliers or components
  • Liaise with testing and development teams to validate new parts
  • Build strong working relationships across internal departments
  • Visit suppliers as needed to support purchasing decisions
What you will need to be considered for the Technical Buyer role
  • Background in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
  • HNC/HND or degree in an engineering discipline
  • Experience in purchasing, cost reduction, or value engineering
  • Confident using Excel and basic data tools
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
