Teaching Assistant – SEN (Autism & Complex Needs) Location: Greenford, Ealing

Start Date: January 2026

Contract Type: Full-Time, Long-Term

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:45pm

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

Axcis Education is working in partnership with a dedicated Primary Special Needs School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in January 2026. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalised learning and promote inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
  • Use communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to support learning
  • Support pupils with personal care, where required
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Promote a structured, engaging, and supportive learning environment
  • Record and report on pupil progress
  • Contribute to planning, review, and progress meetings
Requirements
  • Previous experience supporting children with Autism, or experience within EYFS
  • Confidence using PECS and familiarity with Makaton
  • Willingness to support with personal care
  • Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
  • Ability to commit to full-time hours from September 2025
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
