Grade : K scp 39 £50,269- scp 43 £54,495 plus Essential Car User Allowance up to £963pa


Contract : Permanent


Essential Requirement : Full Driving Licence, 3 years post qualification experience, Experience of staff or student supervision.


Essential Qualification : Social Work Qualified and Registered with SWE

The Role

The role is an exciting opportunity to build on our highly regarded Fostering Service, which works with mainstream Foster Carers.


The role will include the supervision of Social Workers and a Family Support Worker, joint responsible for the allocation of work, the monitoring of service provision, assisting with overseeing the recruitment aspect of the team when required and also supervising the Deputy Manager who is part of the service.


Development work and providing a fresh perspective to well-established routines and practice is welcomed.


The role is flexible working in tandem with the Deputy Team Manager to ensure that the management responsibility for the team is provided daily and out of hours where necessary.


The team prides itself on close teamwork, a high level of commitment to the service and good staff retention.


The value base of the Fostering Team is an honest, trustworthy and nurturing approach, assessing Family members and offering support under the Fostering framework.


We work closely with all the children services across social care and work equally as closely with other services that we provide a provision to.


About You

You need to be Social Work qualified with experience in fostering, you would benefit from some understanding of Family and Friends / Connected Persons as you will also work closely with this manager and may be required to oversee this team when the Manager for this service is on annual leave.


You will have some experience of managing students, professionals and operational teams.


You need the passion to inspire others and to not only maintain what works well, but to also create new ways of working to promote the growth and relevance of the service.


You will be dynamic, creative and innovative and prepared to work with Mainstream Foster Carers.


You will also have an insight into the care and support needed by our Foster Carers and be prepared to “go the extra mile” for our carers.
